The Community offers Monastic Experience Days designed for women who are interested in exploring the contemplative life within a monastic community. These special days provide an opportunity to discover more about the daily rhythm of prayer, work, and community life as lived by the Poor Clares. The day is also very helpful if you are discerning whether a monastic vocation might be right for you.

Participants typically join the sisters in their liturgical prayer (the Divine Office), spend time in silent prayer and reflection, and learn about the unique charism and history of the Poor Clare Order. There are also opportunities for informal conversation with the sisters, as well as times for questions and guidance in discernment.

Attending Adoration and Evening Prayer on the Sundays of Advent offers an opportunity to centre oneself in the presence of Christ, as we prepare for His coming  bringing a sense of peace and reflection to the end of the week. It allows for a moment of calm amidst the busyness of preparations for Christmas fostering a deeper connection with God through quiet contemplation and communal worship. As Pope Leo  said in a recent General Audience:

“Let us be careful not to get caught up in frenetic activity in preparing for the feast, which would lead us to experience it in a superficial way and leave room for disappointment. Instead, let us take the time to make our hearts attentive and vigilant as we await Jesus, so that His loving presence may become the treasure of our lives and hearts forever

Some compelling reasons for attending daily Mass in our chapel or in any Church:

  •   It  deepens your relationship with Jesus through the Eucharist.
  •   It offers spiritual strength and guidance for life’s challenges.
  •   Attending Mass provides a sense of community and shared faith.
  •   Regular participation helps nurture gratitude and peace in daily life.

It should not be surprising that a light so enkindled,
so illuminating could not be kept from shining brilliantly
and giving clear light in the house of the Lord;
nor could a vessel filled with perfume be so hidden
that it would not emit its fragrance
and suffuse the Lord's house with a sweet aroma.
